The Play That Goes Wrong, Theatrical Disaster, London
Prepare for uncontrollable laughs in the London West End Theatre, which is the home of some of the most renowned London theatre shows. The Play That Goes Wrong has eight performances each week; enjoy the perfectly orchestrated chaos and its slapstick comedy. The show has also become an international comedy changer, and now a staple of the West End London scene.
What started as a modest production in the Old Red Lion Theatre, with an audience of only 60 per night, has become a global success, now making thousands of people happy every week in its permanent West End home, the Duchess Theatre. The combination of British wit, farce and physical comedy is one of the trademarks of Mischief Theatre; it makes the West End show a must watch among other musicals in the West End.
What Is The Play That Goes Wrong About?
The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society is a hobby theatre group (catastrophically unlucky), performing a 1920s murder mystery in their play, Murder at Haversham Manor. As the name indicates, nothing that is supposed to go wrong, goes wrong. People who book The Play That Goes Wrong London Tickets are aware that they will be eager to spend their evening on collapsing sets, forgotten lines, missing props, and out-of-sync cues and actors against their characters and stage. By all the misfortunes of the plot, the stubborn cast drags onwards to the end curtains -bringing in a night of pure comedic genius which has now become a legend in the London Theatre scene.
The production has had West End success, several UK tours, and international recognition since first premiering in 2012, including the 2015 Olivier Award of Best New Comedy. It is being called by critics as gut-busting, masterfully malfunctioning, and screamingly hilarious, and celebrities including Joanna Lumley and Ant and Dec have proclaimed it to be one of the funniest London Shows they have ever been to.
This West End show has an outstanding cast that includes: Robert Jackson, Jack Hardwick, Jonty Peach, Charlotte Scott, Ronnie Yorke, Izzy Edmunds-Clarke, Mitesh Soni, and Tom Wainwright, and the laughs are endless.
